1. More time is spent writing internet posts designed to make the author sound smarter than everyone else.

I think the list is a good list, and "the story lacks moral argument" statement is concise and phenomenally accurate.

The only point I'd make is that not all these points can be applied to the scripts posted on these forums. Short scripts are not meant to be sold. It's also impossible to have anything more than a 2d charachter in a 3 minute short.

I'd agree that a short is very different, and lots of th points wouldn't apply- but I've sold a short script!

[Why say '3 minute short?'] Saying that's impossible? I have to disagree- maybe's one day I can prove it!

Good for you Kev. You're in a select group. I hope they treated your script well.

I don't think you could set up a 3d charachter and a decent plot in three minutes. I havent seen many good shorts, but the ones that are good are more concerned with technique and narrative. More often than not they're simple too.

Taking the broad definition of short into consideration, ie what i call a "long" short (10mins or over), you could have a 3d character. But think of the render times.

Sorry about that. To be honest I think there is often a tendency in europe to focus a little too much on the characters and not enough on the plot.

But its all subjective man. You gotta flex to your own breakbeat shizzy.

As long as the story is interesting i don't think that any of thiose reasons matter.

As long as the script is interesting then who cares it's original or if the film's in 3D.

    Unhappy

Ironically, lots of that kind of ******** are part of the very reason that creative, interesting and original films are NOT being made.
